PLAN B
Expanding Availability of the Morning-after Pill
Simon Heller, staff attorney for the Center for Reproductive
Rights in New York, is a longtime litigator on behalf of women's right
to choose and an expert on "Plan B" emergency contraception.
He will give a free public lecture on Thursday, February 22 at 7
p.m. in Room 175 of the Knight Law Center, 1515 Agate Street in Eugene.
His lecture is called "Expanding Availability of the Morning-After
Pill: The Legal Challenge to the FDA's Denial of Over-the-Counter
Status for Plan B."
In 2000, he successfully argued before the U.S. Supreme Court in
Stenberg v. Carhart, the challenge to Nebraska's ban on a method of
late abortion.
The lecture is sponsored by the Public Interest/Public Service
Program, the law school chapter of American Constitution Society, and
Law Students for Choice.
