Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation Symposium
The Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation’s annual symposium will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011, in room 175 of the Knight Law Center. Titled "The Local Revolution: How Relationships and Legal Policies are Helping Create Sustainable Communities Around the Country," this free public event will examine the movement toward relocalization that has emerged in response to the destructive effects of globalization on people and the environment. Relocalization is the restoration of community empowerment. The Northwest has been key in this movement, leading the way with several innovative local initiatives that attempt to empower the community and preserve the environment. Keynote speakers include Jenny Kassan and Janelle Orsi, co-founders of the Sustainable Economies Law Center. CLE credits are pending.
