Ben Lauritsen enters his fourth season with the Trail Blazers in 2013-14 and his second as the team’s Vice President and General Counsel. Lauritsen provides the Trail Blazers and Moda Center with legal and business advice, contract negotiation, NBA and government compliance, dispute management, and works cross-departmentally to ensure team objectives are accomplished. He also serves as the Secretary for the team’s charity arm, the make it better Foundation. Prior to joining the Trail Blazers, Lauritsen spent two years as an associate at Stoel Rives LLP in Portland, following a two-year stint as an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP in London, England. Lauritsen graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 2004, where he was awarded a merit-based scholarship as a Cornerstone Scholar. Upon graduation from law school, he spent a year as a judicial clerk for Judge David G. Campbell in the U.S. District of Arizona. Lauritsen currently resides in Southwest Portland with his wife, Alena, and three children, Natalie (10), Ian (7) and Brock (2).
