Guy Blake joined Davis Shapiro Lewit & Hayes
in April 2004 and was made a named partner in January 2013. Davis Shapiro Lewit Grabel Leven Granderson & Blake, LLP is a boutique entertainment law firm with offices in New York and Beverly Hills. The firm handles a variety of matters arising in the entertainment industry, with a strong emphasis in music, digital rights and branded entertainment. Clients include some of the world’s most successful musical talent (including recording artists, songwriters, producers, composers, and music supervisors), developing artists, large entertainment companies and start-up companies and ventures. The firm’s roster currently includes 50 Cent, The Lumineers, Aloe Blacc, Gotye, Ne-Yo, Ludacris, Timbaland, Diplo, Mad Decent Records, Top Dawg Entertainment (Kendrick Lamar), Ingrid Michaelson. Mr. Blake’s practice has particular emphasis on music publishing, production, reality television and intellectual property.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Blake served as Senior Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs at Warner/Chappell Music, one of the world's largest music publishing companies. Mr. Blake has also been a course instructor and speaker at UCLA, Pepperdine School of Law and Southwestern School of Law and is a frequent panelist and guest lecture for various organizations such as ASCAP, Association of Independent Music Publishers, California Copyright Conference and Pepperdine School of Law. He has also served on the Beverly Hills Bar Association Entertainment Law Executive Committee.
