A Commitment to Public Service
Oregon Law students are passionately engaged in public service and our graduates accept public service employment at a rate that far exceeds the national average. During law school, Oregon Law’s rich public service offerings give service-focused students unparalleled opportunity to participate in public service.
Our award winning Pro Bono Program connects law students to legal service providers and others to do hands-on law-related work for clients in need. The Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund raises money for law students for summer stipends working for organizations that serve some of our most vulnerable populations, such as domestic violence survivors, migrant farmworkers, children in foster care and the elderly poor. The Public Interest Public Service Program hosts educational and inspirational programs and symposia on vital public service topics and performs community service projects. To support our graduates in public service, the Loan Repayment Assistance Program distributes forgivable loans to qualifying applicants for up to three years.
Our rich public service offerings include clinics and externships, school-wide public community service events, internationally attended conferences, high profile visiting speakers, specialized centers of excellence and certificates awarded for public service concentrations. Very simply, Oregon Law offers enrichment and opportunity for the most dedicated public service advocates and scholars.
