Introducing Oregon’s LL.M. Class of 2011-2012

The LL.M. in Environmental and Natural Resources Law welcomes its Class of 2011-12.

Reflecting a diversity of cultures, experiences, perspectives, and interests, our incoming LL.M. students speak English, Spanish, Persian, Swahili, Portuguese, and French. They hail from across the country and around the globe.

Elina Llinezhad, from Mashad, Iran, where she studied Judicial Law and worked as a legal adviser. She completed an LL.M. in Iran with a thesis on Good Governance in Environmental Law. SooJun Chae has conducted research on ocean conditions and worked as a unit leader in the Korean Coast Guard’s International Cooperation Bureau. He is the author of “Workbook of Criminal Procedure Law.” Vanessa Danley worked as a tax lawyer in Brazil for a petroleum company. Interested in endangered species, she has worked to protect sea turtles in Costa Rica and helped establish environmental law clinics in the Amazon region.

Samantha Kakuru, a private lawyer from Uganda, she has worked in public interest law. She’s led environmental law training workshops for judges of the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, and State Prosecutor. Brian Sproul earned his law degree from Illinois. He has worked in governmental offices and for two Illinois judges. Global warming law courses convinced him law has a role in protecting our planet. Antonia Zeas, from Ecuador, worked as a government lawyer and developed constitutional framework guidelines for planning and land use. She also worked for the mayor of the City of Cuenca on environmental issues.

LL.M. in Environmental and Natural Resources Law at Oregon Law

Oregon Law LL.M. students have worked as litigators, mediators, researchers, and legal advisers. They have worked for private law firms, corporations, non-governmental organizations, courts, and various government departments.
