Visiting/Study Abroad
Occasionally, a UO Law Student may choose to study as a visiting student with another ABA-accredited law school. Frequently, such visits away from UO involve participating in pre-approved summer study abroad programs.
To qualify, a student must have successfully completed the first year curriculum and have at least a 2.30 cumulative grade point average. The student must gain acceptance as a visitor to the other law school, be approved for the visit by the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, and obtain the Assistant Dean’s approval of the intended courses. The process of application and approval can be lengthy. Please contact the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at least six months prior to the desired visit time. More information and a Request to Visit form can be located on MyLaw.
The University of Oregon School of Law participates in a limited, reciprocal exchange of students with the University of Adelaide in Australia. UO students may choose to engage in the selection process for the limited number of spots available in that exchange arrangement. Click here for more details if you are an Oregon student interested in studying at Adelaide.
If you are an Adelaide student interested in studying at Oregon, you may review the Application Procedures and complete the online Application. You should also pay close attention to the application procedures of your school, http://www.law.adelaide.edu.au/student/exchange/.
For additional information about visiting elsewhere or participating in the Adelaide exchange, please contact the Study Abroad Coordinator.
