Business Associations Transactional Lab (the "Lab") is a one-credit pass/no pass practicum course that complements the traditional course in Business Associations ("BA"). Under the auspices of experienced Portland business attorneys, Lab students will be led through a series of simulations, requiring students to understand, analyze, draft and revise the provisions of various documents used to form, capitalize and govern LLCs and corporations. Lab simulations will provide invaluable opportunities for students to apply the statutes, doctrines and principles covered in BA in concrete, real-world contexts and to receive feedback, advice and insight from sophisticated business lawyers. The Lab is optional for any student enrolled in BA. Given the emphasis on understanding and drafting various real-world documents, the Lab has been designated as a simulation course that counts towards the experiential course graduation requirement.
