Course: Advocacy Topics: Oral Advocacy
Anne Egeler is a Deputy Solicitor General for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office. She teaches oral appellate advocacy.
Ms. Egeler has argued a broad range of issues in Washington’s Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, including constitutional, environmental, tax, immigration, and criminal cases. She has submitted briefing in numerous matters at the certiorari or merits stage at the United States Supreme Court. In addition, Ms. Egeler heads the Appellate Assistance Program for the Washington Attorney General’s Office. In this role, she advises on strategy, edits briefs, and prepares attorneys for oral argument.
Ms. Egeler received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law. In 2014, she was a United States Supreme Court Fellow with the National Association of Attorneys General. Ms. Egeler has received a number of awards, but is most proud of receiving the Washington State Bar Association’s Local Hero Award for her pro bono work.
