Melissa Aubin is an Attorney Advisor with the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, where she specializes in judicial administration and evidence-based approaches to criminal justice.  Her work includes implementation of data-driven policies to reduce risk among individuals in community supervision, including policies that underlie federal reentry courts.  From 2014-2015, Melissa served as Special Assistant to the Counselor to the Chief Justice at the Supreme Court of the United States.  In her work as an attorney in the judicial branch, she chaired working groups in evidence-based practices that developed practices to increase fidelity to the risk, need, and responsivity principles, and initiated implementation of cognitive-behavioral programs in supervision.  Melissa has taught Evidence at George Washington University School of Law, Human Rights Law at the University of Lucerne School of Law Academy for Human Rights,  and Constitutional Law and Innovations in Criminal Justice at University of Oregon School of Law.  Prior to her work as an Attorney Advisor, Melissa was a Supreme Court Fellow in the Office of the Counselor to the Chief Justice and clerked in the District of Oregon and Oregon Court of Appeals.
