Public Interest Law Concentration

Opening doors to justice is integral to the mission of Oregon Law. Our Public Interest Law Concentration is designed for students who want to develop the skills to become a successful public interest lawyer.

Requirements 


Group A Courses – Must satisfactorily complete five (5) [or a minimum of 15 credits] from the following courses:

Group C Courses – Must satisfactorily complete one (1) of the following courses:

  • LAW 774 Civil Practice Clinic
  • LAW 762 Criminal Defense Clinic
  • LAW 764 Criminal Prosecution Clinic
  • LAW 766 Domestic Violence Civil Clinic
  • LAW 768 Domestic Violence Protective Order Clinic
  • LAW 771 Environmental Clinic or Advanced Environmental Clinic
  • LAW 773 Nonprofit Clinic
  • LAW 714 Judicial Field Placement
  • LAW 714 Public Service Field Placement (Nonprofit organizations or government)

In addition to completing the curriculum referenced above, you must write a high quality professional academic research paper concerning public interest law or public policy issues.
