After graduating from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2008, Michael clerked for Judge Kip Leonard at the Lane County Juvenile Court. When Judge Leonard retired from the bench in 2010, Michael accepted a position as a staff attorney in the Survivors Justice Center at Lane County Legal Aid and Advocacy Center, representing survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in civil legal matters. As a result of this experience, Michael was hired to establish an in-house Domestic Violence Clinic at the University of Oregon in 2012. He now teaches law students best practices for representing survivors of intimate partner violence as an assistant clinical professor and supervising attorney in the Domestic Violence Protective Order Clinic.
