Call for Submissions: "Pandemic Proceedings"

Call for Submissions: Vol I, Issue 3

Proceedings, an online journal of conference presentations by legal writing faculty, is seeking submissions for “Pandemic Proceedings.” This special edition will feature ideas from conference presentations you had planned to make but didn’t due to the pandemic.

The theme includes presentations accepted by later-cancelled legal writing conferences, presentations submitted for consideration by a conference, and ideas that you never had the opportunity to submit or fully articulate. In short, we are seeking essays that share insights from the conference presentations the legal writing community didn’t get the chance to hear this past year.

We especially encourage short essays from colleagues burdened by pandemic-related obligations that kept you from your usual productivity. (If you’ve already written an article on your non-existent presentation topic, congratulations! But an excerpted essay is not a good fit for this issue because the community will have the opportunity to hear your ideas.)

We will consider individual and group/panel submissions.  Essays should be no more than 1500 words, and they can be much shorter.  This essay can be a placeholder on your resume and might inspire you to take up the topic again, once you’ve caught your breath.  Please submit Word documents (.doc or .docx files).

Please email submissions to Barbi McLain, LRW Program manager, at bmclain@uoregon.edu no later than Sunday, May 23. To learn more about Proceedings, visit our website: https://law.uoregon.edu/academics/centers/lrw/proceedings.

If your idea is more developed or if you have presented on it, please consider these other venues for publication:
