The Public Service and Policy Program (PSP) began in 2013 as an initiative to build on Oregon Law’s distinct, long-standing public service tradition and create a comprehensive program that elevates and supports the public interest, public service, and public policy work of Oregon Law students, alumni, and faculty.
Through rich academic offerings coupled with development of practice-ready skills for public sector, public policy, or public interest legal careers, PSP aims to nurture a community dedicated to public service with opportunities to build connections, to advocate for the public good, and to engage in issues at the intersection of law and policy.
Students gain real-world experience through foundational coursework, government and nonprofit field placements, and mentorship from faculty engaged in policy work in Oregon and beyond. Robust pro bono opportunities and service initiatives—like the Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund—deepen our Law Ducks' commitment to justice and help them translate their values into lasting impact.
