Appropriate Dispute Resolution Center Fellowships

1L Fellow Program

Fellows work alongside ADR Center leadership to advance cutting-edge interdisciplinary initiatives, organize high-profile events, and network with prominent scholars, attorneys, and leaders. The 1L Fellow has a term of one year and requires a minimum commitment of 80 hours over that year.

Past projects have included:

  • establishing a pilot probate mediation program in central Oregon
  • researching best practices in truancy prevention through mediation
  • tracking legislative action to locate bills that impact ADR in Oregon


How to Apply: Applicants to the JD Program may apply by completing a student profile on the University of Oregon Scholarship Portal, and then submitting the fellowship application. Please provide a short essay (250 to 750 words) describing your interest in ADR and a current resume. Your name (as stated on your application for admission) must be included on your essay.

Fellowship applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and continue until the fellowships are filled. Applications for Fellowships may be submitted at the time you submit your application for law school. All candidates will be notified when the process has been completed.
 


Environmental Conflict Resolution (ECR) Fellowship

The ADR Center and the Environmental and Natural Resources Center co-sponsor an Environmental Conflict Resolution (ECR) Fellowship. This Fellowship is given to rising 2L or 3L students who are passionate about ECR.

The ECR Fellow works closely with the ENR and ADR Centers, has a term of one year, and requires a minimum commitment of 80 hours over that year.

Past projects have included:

  • coordinating an interdisciplinary ADR/ENR speaker series
  • developing guidelines for a graduate certificate in Environmental Conflict Resolution
