Brook is the executive director of Public Defender Services of Lane County, the largest law firm in the county.
A graduate of the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communications in 2003 and Willamette University College of Law in 2009, Brook has been a public defender for more than 12 years in Douglas and Lane Counties. During that time, he's represented more than a thousand clients, and taken more than 75 cases to trial. He is active in the local community and serves as a director for the Lane County Bar Association, vice president for the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, treasurer for Public Defenders of Oregon, and as an executive committee member for the Oregon State Bar's Criminal Law Section. He's also an elected director for Willamalane Parks and Recreation District in Springfield.
Brook is passionate about negotiation, negotiation theory, and better ways to approach the problem of mass incarceration in Oregon. He lives in Springfield with his wife and seven children.
