Biography

Marti McCausland (she/her) joined the University of Oregon School of Law in 2024. She has over 15 years of experience in legal career and professional development, first working at Tonkon Torp in Portland before moving into the law school environment. At the start of her legal career, Marti worked in the patent department at Intel and practiced patent law in private practice. As a law student, she worked in poverty law at public interest organizations in New York City. 

Marti earned a JD from Fordham University College of Law and a BA in Mathematics from Smith College. A native Oregonian, she is active in the Oregon legal community, having served on the executive committees for the Diversity and Technology Sections and the LRAP advisory committee of the Oregon State Bar. She has been active in National Association for Law Placement and Oregon Legal Recruiters Association. Past volunteer work includes volunteering as a Night Clinic Attorney at Saint Andrew Legal Clinic, advocating for children in foster care as a CASA, and coaching the Jefferson High School mock trial team.
