[Eugene, OR]- [May 11, 2023] - In the annual national ranking of law schools released by U.S. News and World Report, the University of Oregon School of Law remains first in the state of Oregon and second in the Pacific Northwest coming in at #78. Oregon Law is the only law school in the Pacific Northwest to boast three top ranked programs: Legal Writing (#1), Environmental Law (#9), and Dispute Resolution (#11).
“Oregon Law is once again recognized among the nation's best and it is an honor to have our specialty programs acknowledged,” said Marcilynn A. Burke, Dean and Dave Frohnmayer Chair of Leadership and Law. “As the foundation of all legal education, to have our Legal Research and Writing program pronounced the top program in the country speaks to our commitment to a robust, practice-ready law school experience.”
Only six law schools throughout the Western United States achieved the distinction of having three specialty programs ranked in the top fifteen. Oregon Law’s Legal Writing program gained sole possession of the number one ranking. In addition, Oregon Law’s Environmental Law program is again in the top-10 and the Dispute Resolution program is the only nationally top-ranked program of its kind in the Pacific Northwest.
