Executive Director, Law & Conflict Studies

Professor Girvan earned his J.D. at Harvard Law School and his Ph.D. (Social and Political Psychology) at the University of Minnesota. With diverse legal and other professionals, he researches the affects of group-based stereotypes and attitudes in the legal system and develops and tests practical ways to reduce or eliminate the impacts of biases.
