Lillian (Lily) Marshall-Bass (she/her) joined the law school in August 2021. Lily came to the University of Oregon with over ten years of experience in civil litigation in both California and Oregon. Lily began her legal career in San Francisco with the law firm O'Melveny & Myers, where she represented companies and individuals in litigation and internal investigations. In 2012, Lily transitioned to work as a legal aid attorney, representing low-income individuals in housing, benefits, and education matters. During her time in legal aid, Lily was part of a team that pursued civil rights litigation against a local high school district based on its racially-discriminatory discipline practices. After relocating to her husband's hometown of Eugene, Lily joined the firm Hershner Hunter as a litigation associate. Lily's practice at Hershner Hunter focused on business litigation, employment matters, and real estate disputes.
Lily is deeply connected to the local legal community and was elected in 2021 to serve on the board of the Lane County Bar Association. She looks forward to drawing on her broad experience and professional connections as she works with law students and graduates on their pursuit of fulfilling legal careers.
Lily is a native of Sacramento, California. She earned her Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law in 2009, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Macalester College, St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2006. She is admitted to practice law in California (inactive status) and Oregon.
