Sponsored by the Lane County Equity and Community Consortium, the goal of the family-friendly monthly events is to create a safe space that fosters friendships and networks for people of color, social justice allies and equity workers in the local area. It is also a place to celebrate successes and to welcome and introduce new people to the community. Community members are encouraged to bring their families, including children. Food will be provided.

Professor Liz Frost is hosting this three-hour, distraction-free block for focused writing time. Students should bring their laptops and all the materials they need to work on their project. Professor Frost, the 2017-18 Writing Specialist supported by the Galen Program, will be available for writing support. Snacks will be provided. RSVP to aboutell@uoregon.edu.

*Participants don’t have to stay for the full three hours, but we ask that they commit to at least 90 minutes.

Established in 2006, the Rennard Strickland Lecture Series is sponsored by the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Center, the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics, and the Native American Law Student Association to honor the legacy of the law school's former dean and Distinguished Professor Emeritus Rennard Strickland by examining native leadership and vision for environmental stewardship in the 21st century. This year's speaker is Dean James Anaya from the University of Colorado Boulder Law School.

SEDD continues our comparative skills exploration of environmental disputes with a combination presentation and practice session on facilitation next month. I will lead with: there should be food! Facilitation is a little different in function than negotiation or mediation, so we will be taking a mediated agreement we reached at our last session and looking at how facilitation can assist with maintaining and implementing those agreements.
