Writing and research are the foundation of your law career. Oregon Law’s Legal Research and Writing Program—ranked third in the nation—will teach you to be an effective legal communicator, so you are practice-ready.
Our LRW professors all came to teaching from legal practice. Many have written books that are used in law schools nationwide. All have written articles for academic publications or for the bench or bar, including the Oregon Bar Bulletin's monthly The Legal Writer column.
You will learn from these experts to research legal sources, critically analyze the law to solve problems, thoughtfully organize legal arguments, and communicate those arguments clearly, confidently, and powerfully.
In the workplace, your success will depend on what you know and how well you can communicate it. The LRW program is rigorous, but students who meet the challenge are glad they did.
