Associate Professor Greg Dotson has accepted a new appointment to the Oregon Climate Action Commission. He is now supporting the Commission in their work to track trends in greenhouse gas emissions, recommend ways to coordinate state and local efforts to reduce emissions, and help prepare communities for the effects of climate change. 
"[...]the U.S. Attorney General cannot stop enforcement of state or local laws simply because the Administration has different policy preferences," Associate Professor Greg Dotson told The Oregonian for an April 9th article, "Trump seeks to halt state, local climate laws, puts Oregon mandates at risk." 
On Friday, April 11, the UO Green Business Initiative will present the annual Green Business Symposium with this year's theme, "Sustainable Transportation: Driving the Future of Green Business." Attend in person at UO Portland or via Zoom webinar. 
The 2025 U.S News & World Report rankings place Oregon Law's Environmental and Natural Resources Law Center at #7 in the nation, marking ENR's twentieth year as a top-15 program. 
Professor Emerita Roberta Mann co-organized the Tax Law, the Environment, and Climate Change Symposium hosted by Pace University's Environmental Law Review, where she also moderated a panel on "Carbon Taxes and Other Pricing Proposals." 
Greg Giunta, JD '24, a former fellow with the ENR Center's Energy Law & Policy Project, was recently published in LSU's Journal of Energy and Resources with his article, "Climate Change as a National Emergency: Exploring Executive Powers." 
In his capacity as the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, Professor Michael Fakhri authored a post on "The Relationship Between the Right to Food and Science and Innovation" for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization's Science, Technology, and Innovation blog. 
On Thursday, April 3, the University of Montana's Public Land & Resources Law Review will host the 2025 Frank & Elvira Jestrab Distinguished Lecture on Water, featuring Clayton R. Hess Professor of Law Adell Amos with her talk, "State Water Code Reform: Lessons for Oregon from Across the West." Livestream the lecture by Zoom. 
With co-author Professor Tracey Roberts (Samford), Professor Emerita Roberta Mann published "The Long and Winding Road: The Inflation Reduction Act's Energy and Environmental Tax Credits" in the National Tax Journal. 
On March 19, Professor Mary C. Wood will join a slate of expert speakers for "Examining State Climate Superfund Bills," a public webinar hosted by the Environmental Law Institute. Registration is required and free.
