Greening Gray Infrastructure

Fellows of the ENR Center's Sustainable Land Use Project organized "Greening Gray Infrastructure," which featured panelists Rebecca Lewis, Assistant Professor of the Department of Planning, Public Policy, and Management, Jonathan Rosenbloom, Visiting Professor of Law, and Keith Hirokawa, Professor of Law at Albany Law School.

Many land use laws rely largely on conventional "gray infrastructure" in which the manufactured, engineered, built environment is the primary measn to provide essential services. This panel explored merging systems often called "green infrastructure" into land use laws as cost effective and adapttive models for an uncertain future.
