OLSPIF is a nonprofit, student-run organization that hosts an annual fundraising auction in February. The money received from the auction provides law students pursuing careers in public interest with $4,000 stipends.

Three new specializations in water, climate change and land use conflict will be offered to graduate students just in time for the 2019-20 academic year. Now, students pursuing their Master’s, JD, PhD or professional graduate degrees will get a deeper understanding of the participatory processes, decision-making constraints, and tools to address environmental disputes.

Oregon Law has a strong tradition of public service. In its 28th year, the Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund (OLSPIF) continues this legacy by naming 15 first-year and second-year students as the 2019 OSLPIF recipients.

This August, four new faculty members -- Sarah Adams-Schoen, Angela Addae, Howard Arnett and Latisha Nixon-Jones -- will join Oregon Law.

Laird Kirkpatrick JD ’68, Cory Smith JD ’00, Craig Ashford JD ’11, Catherine Jedlicka JD ’13, Lauren Blaesing JD ’11 and Joel Sturm JD ‘12, are named recipients of the 2019 Oregon Law Awards.

The long-awaited hatching of the three osprey chicks has finally happened atop the Knight Law Center at the University of Oregon! Now that they are here, UO Law takes pride in tradition to name each chick. Over the past couple of weeks people have suggested names for the hatchlings through a social media campaign.

Each year, the University of Oregon recognizes a select group of faculty for excellence in teaching through the Distinguished Teacher Award. Michelle McKinley, the School of Law’s Bernard B. Kliks Professor of Law, was named recipient of this year’s prestigious Thomas F.Herman Award for Specialized Pedagogy in Undergraduate Legal Studies.

Oregon’s Attorney General Rosenblum delivered an inspiring commencement address at the 133rdcommencement ceremony on May 18, 2019. 

More than 1,000 guests gathered on Saturday, May 18, at Matthew Knight Arena to celebrate the School of Law’s 133rd graduating class. One hundred doctor of jurisprudence and master of laws degrees were conferred. This graduation kicks off a series of UO ceremonies taking place in May and June.

Two faculty were awarded the Orlando John Hollis Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award and Meritorious Service Award at the 2019 commencement ceremony. These awards were created by Oregon Law faculty to honor the service of those who have enhanced legal education and advanced the role of law in society.
